Aeon’s End: Legacy sequel brings the co-op series to an end

In Gravehold’s grasp.

Complete the story started by Aeon’s End: Legacy with the latest entry in the series, currently on Kickstarter and set to be released in November.

Aeon’s End: Legacy of Gravehold is a co-op game for one to four players intended to be the final chapter in a story arc that began with 2019 release Aeon’s End: Legacy. Set within the city of Gravehold - a place that has undergone much hardship since breaches opened up inside - the upcoming board game provides players with a narrative filled with branching paths determined by their decisions.

The players take the role of powerful mages who are tasked with the responsibility of preventing Gravehold from being overrun by hordes of creatures escaping from the breaches.

As a legacy game, players will be embarking on an ongoing campaign designed to be played in multiple sessions, with the same number of players required for every single session. At various points in the campaign, players will be able to make decisions as to what their characters will do, both narratively and in regards to their abilities. As magic casters, players will be able to use their decks of cards to perform certain spells, as well as use various gems and relics against the monsters they face. By achieving their goals, players will be able to improve their character’s abilities and spells, making them more capable opponents against the breaches’ hordes.

Players in Legacy of Gravehold will have to be prepared to face a nemesis - an antagonist that the group will have to defeat in order to win the game. Which nemesis players will face depends entirely on which city players choose to represent at the beginning of the game - Gravehold or Azer - with each one providing a different experience. Throughout the deckbuilding game, players will acquire new rules and even destroy cards from their decks when instructed to. Players will have to be sure to finish off their nemesis before the city falls or they are all too exhausted to fight.

The original Aeon’s End: Legacy saw players become young apprentices who must band together to face off against the might of The Nameless. Legacy had player characters gaining experience with each session they completed, steadily obtaining the spells, abilities and equipment they needed to fulfill their destiny.
