Does Love Forgive? is a two-player supplement for the Call of Cthulhu RPG

Doomed duo.

Roleplay one-to-one sessions of the Call of Cthulhu RPG with Does Love Forgive?, a set of scenarios designed to be played between two people.

Does Love Forgive? is a supplement for horror roleplaying game Call of Cthulhu that turns the epic RPG into a more intimate affair. In Call of Cthulhu, the Keeper - otherwise known as games master - serves the role of narrator and storyteller, whilst the investigator explores the world itself. Rather than having one Keeper for a group of players, Does Love Forgive? presents two storylines for just one Keeper and one investigator to experience.

The two scenarios in Does Love Forgive? are based around intense relationships happening against the backdrop of an alternate 1930s USA, where the threat of the Old Ones looms over the two players. Both stories are designed to be used alongside the Call of Cthulhu Starter Set or Call of Cthulhu: 7th Edition.

Love you to Death sees the investigator meeting with an old friend - Hattie May - in their detective agency office in Chicago, with the woman asking the player to help her rescue her beloved dog from the local police department.

Mask of Desire takes place in New York and follows the investigator’s exploits with their two close companions - Anna Konrad and Lucas Reston. The three have been invited to a party at an apartment owned by a wealthy socialite called Madam de Tisson. However, after a parcel arrives, the investigator and their friends become embroiled in a plot surrounding the mysterious package.

Call of Cthulhu is a roleplaying game inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos that has players investigating the strange goings-on caused by the imminent arrival of terrifying and otherworldly beings. As investigators, players will have access to their own set of unique skills, but are encouraged to avoid direct confrontations with the creatures sent by the Old Ones themselves. The RPG is primarily a survival horror game, meaning that enemies are designed to present a serious threat to the players, with conflict potentially resulting in injuries that cannot be healed.

The english language version of Does Love Forgive? is being published by Chaosium - the company responsible for releasing Call of Cthulhu - and is based on a supplement called Miłość ci wszystko wybaczy? by Airis Kamińska and Anna Maria Mazur, which was released for the Polish language version of Call of Cthulhu by Black Monk Games.

This announcement follows the reprint of two classic supplements for Call of Cthulhu called Beyond the Mountains of Madness and Horror on the Orient Express. Originally released in 1999, Beyond the Mountains of Madness is being re-released for the first time, with players able to experience the mysteries of the Antarctic once again. Horror on the Orient Express is a globe-trotting adventure spread across two books, with players travelling on a doomed railway line to Constantinople.

Does Love Forgive? is available now at a retail price of $12.99 (£9), alternatively a PDF version of the book can be downloaded for $5.99 (£4) from Chaosium’s website or DriveThruRPG.
