After graduating with a degree in English Literature from the University of Kent, where he and his work for the local paper were nominated for the 2013 Kent in Culture Media Awards, Matt has spent over a decade writing professionally about music, film, games and other pop culture for various places.

His experience includes several years as a technology, PC and video game journalist on trade magazines PCR, MCV and Develop, as well as freelancing for outlets including Kotaku, WhatCulture and the Daily Star, before moving to write about tabletop games as the editor of monthly print magazine Tabletop Gaming.

He has appeared as an industry expert across TV, radio and online discussing tabletop games on outlets including the BBC, NPR and Washington Post. In 2019, he was named by Mojo Nation 100 as one of the most influential figures working in the toy and games industry. He has also been the voice of an advert for Wiltshire Caravans, and written about Metal Gear Solid 2 for A Hideo Kojima Book.

Matt joined Dicebreaker as editor-in-chief in 2019, and has been trying to convince the rest of the team to play Diplomacy since.
